Two postdoctoral researcher positions are available immediately at Lero - The Irish Software Research Centre

Post Doctoral Researcher/Research Fellow (Lero, University of Limerick, Ireland)


Salary: Post Doctoral Researcher: €37,750 - €46,255 p.a.
Research Fellow: €51,716 – €56,442 p.a.

Two postdoctoral researcher positions (12-18 months duration) are available immediately at Lero - The Irish Software Research Centre (www.lero.ie), at the University of Limerick (www.ul.ie), to work on a European Research Council (ERC) project on Adaptive Security and Privacy (www.asap-project.eu).

The research work lies at the intersection of three areas - software engineering, security & privacy, and adaptive/ubiquitous systems - and skills or experience in at least two of them is highly desirable.

The successful applicants will have an opportunity to shape their own research agenda within the overall project's scope, working independently but also collaboratively with other colleagues at Lero.

The Database and Big Data Research Group at Ecole Polytechnique is seeking postdoctoral fellows to work on two projects in big data, described below. The appointment would be for one year, with the possibility of extension to two years.  Postdoctoral fellows will find an active and collaborative research environment with world-renowned researchers in database systems, database theory, statistics and machine learning.

PostDoc in Large-scale Data Analytics at Imperial College

We are looking for aspiring researchers who are interested in pursuing a PostDoc in the broad area of data analytics.

Our group focuses on data analytics and high impact interdisciplinary research, i.e., developing ground breaking and novel data management techniques strongly motivated and used in other disciplines.

The background of successful candidates must overlap significantly with the following areas:

  •  data management 
  •  data analytics/unsupervised learning 
  •  large-scale data analytics 
  •  massively parallel algorithms and computation (ideally experience with MPI and supercomputing) 

Responsibilities of the position include:

  •  perform research on massively parallel data analytics 
  •  work with Ph.D. students, help directing their research and help in disseminating results 
  •  support teaching efforts 
  •  support the acquisition of new research and industrial projects 

You must have excellent communication skills and prioritise work to meet deadlines. Excellent command of English, oral and written, is mandatory. Please note that only candidates with publications in the relevant areas are considered - others need not apply.
