The Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia. This scholarship aims to support Malaysian Government's effort to attract, motivate and retain talented human capital from abroad.

Talented international students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcomed to apply for this scholarship and further their studies in any selected and well-established Malaysian public and private universities.

This scholarship is divided into two (2) categories of study: Postgraduate and Post-doctoral Studies.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS), applicants must fit the following criteria:-

1. Not be more than 40 years (Postgraduate) and 45 years (Post-doctoral) of age during application.
2. Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral programme, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.
3. Took one of the following English Language Proficiency Test not more than two years before the date of application. The list of tests and minimum scores required:
   1. IELTS Academic Test with a score of at least 6.5; or
   2. TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer-based test with a score of at least 230 or internet-based test with a score at least 92.
4. In excellent health condition and certified by a Certified Doctor/Medical Professional. The cost of medical examination is to be borne by the applicants.
5. Wrote a proposal that is relevant to the field of studies.
6. Has applied for and gained admission to postgraduate and post-doctoral studies in Malaysia (conditional letters of offer will be accepted at the time of application or has a confirmation of acceptance or affiliation with the Universities in Malaysia).

Conditions

1. Scholarship holder must undertake full-time studies for postgraduate and post-doctoral studies at a campus of Malaysian Universities.It is the responsibility of the scholarship holders to confirm admission to the university.
2. Scholarship holders must not change their programme during tenure of the scholarship except with written permission from their university and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
3. Scholarship holders must follow the approved programmes and abide by the university’s rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
4. Any suspension from the university will result in immediate suspension of award. Monthly allowances are not payable during suspension, including suspension due to illness.
5. It is the responsibility of successful candidates to apply for and meet the requirements for the issuing of an appropriate entry visa including medical examination. The offer of the scholarship does not guarantee the granting of a visa.
6. Scholarship holders must maintain satisfactory progress and good standing as stipulated by their host university and degree programme, or the scholarship will be withdrawn.
7. The scholarships are tenable in Malaysian universities and research must be carried out in Malaysia.
8. Scholarship holders are not allowed to take any paid employment during their tenure unless with written approval from the host university.

Additional requirements

2. The applicant will hold a non-EU/EEA passport and will not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans ("Studiefinanciering"; more information). Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who have already obtained a Leiden University master’s degree with the exception of students applying for a Master programme for which a specified previous Master programme or work experience is mandatory (the LLM advanced masters qualify as such).

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme 2016/2017 for Pakistan

HEC invites applications from Pakistani/AJ&K nationals for the Stipendium Hungarian Scholarship Programme 2016-17, launched by the Hungarian Government under bilateral Higher Education and Scientific Exchange Programme. All awards will be made on the basis of the academic merit, quality of the research proposal, potential of the candidate, and the likely impact of the work on the development of Pakistan. The Programme is managed by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad and the Tempus Public Foundation, Hungary.

SCHOLARSHIP TYPES

Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available for Pakistani students fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria and other requirements of Hungarian universities under following programs:

1.   Bachelor Degree (04 Years Degree programme after 12 years education)
2.   Master Degree (02 Years Degree programme after 16 years education)
3.   PhD Degree (03 years doctoral degree (PhD) after 18 years education)

SCOPE AND PRIORITIZED AREAS OF STUDY

   FINANCIAL COVERAGE/BENEFITS UNDER THE PROGRAMME:

Tuition-free education: exemption from the payment of tuition fee
    Monthly stipend:

 a. Non-degree, bachelor, master and one-tier master level: monthly HUF 40460/- (cca EUR 130) contribution to the living expenses, for 12 months a year, until the completion of studies

 b.  Doctoral level: according to the current Hungarian legislation, it is monthly HUF 100000/-(cca EUR 325) at present - for 12 months a year, until the completion of studies but the legislation is to be changed, consequently the amount is expected to be raised.

dormitory place or a contribution of HUF 30000/- to accommodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

·         Applicant must be citizens of Pakistan/AJ&K.

·         Must be between the age of 18-22 for undergraduate programmes, for which they are applying for admission and the age should not exceed from 35 for candidates who are applying for postgraduate Master (18 years) & PhD programs on 01st March 2016.

·         The applicant must have completed HSSC / Intermediate or equivalent for application in 04 year Bachelor Program.

·         The applicant must have completed 16 years Bachelors / or equivalent Degree for application in postgraduate Master's (18 Years) and

·         The applicant must have completed 18 years Degree / or equivalent for application in PhD Program.

·         The applicant must fill all the fields of the Hungary Application Form and HEC application form in MS Word (Times New Roman 12 ) and no column or field should be left unfilled.

·         Certificates / Transcript/Degrees to be attached must be attested by the attesting authorities such as IBCC and HEC. Equivalence of O & A level is mandatory to be issued by IBCC.

·         Candidates have to make sure that all technical / engineering/ professional programmes they are seeking admission in, must be accredited by the respective councils / governing bodies such as PEC, PMDC etc.

·         The applicant must provide Police Clearance Certificate with his application.

·         IELTS/TOEFL scores as required, where applicable.

·         All applicants must submit medical certificate of satisfactory health condition (issued not earlier than 1 month, a written certificate from a physician to prove that the applicant does not have the following illnesses: AIDS, Hepatitis A, B, C or any other epidemic conditions)

Darmasiswa Scholarship Programme 2016, Indonesia

DARMASISWA is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia), arts, music and craft in 54 universities in Indonesia. This program was established in 1974 as part of ASEAN initiative, admitting only students from ASEAN. However, in 1976 this program was extended further to other countries. Until to date, the number of countries participating in this program is more than 111 countries and organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC), Republic of Indonesia.

The main purpose of DARMASISWA program is to promote and increase the interest in the language and culture of Indonesia among youth of other countries. It has also been designed to provide stronger cultural links and understanding among participating countries.

The Government of Flanders has launched a new scholarship programme in 2015, Master Mind Scholarships. For the academic year 2016-2017, it awards up to 45 scholarships to outstanding Master students from all countries. The programme aims to promote the internationalization of the Flemish Higher Education, as stated in the Action Plan for Student Mobility, Brains on the Move (September 2013).

Students cannot apply directly. Applications need to be submitted by the Flemish Host Institution, in consultation with the Home Institution of the applicant.

The Home Institution of the applicant and the Flemish Host Institution should have signed a cooperation agreement.

The field of finance is changing rapidly, largely in response to regulations designed to protect market practitioners and to prevent financial crises. FINCAD has long believed that deep market knowledge, transparency and trustworthiness play a critical role in making financial markets safe for all participants.

Bocconi Graduate Scholarship for International Students, Italy

Bocconi University is committed to making higher education accessible to  our students from  all backgrounds worldwide. Università Bocconi offers need-based scholarships to international first year Bocconi Master of Science Program applicants for the 2016-2017 academic year. The awarding of the scholarship takes into consideration not only the economic conditions of the students but also their academic performances; applications required.

The Bocconi Scholarship for International Students includes a full tuition waiver, worth up to € 12,000 per year.

Applicants for the first 5 “international” sessions, who are neither a resident or citizen of Italy nor have earned an Italian Undergraduate degree in Italy or abroad,  will have the opportunity to apply for the Bocconi Scholarship for International Students by completing the online application; link found in the top right-hand corner of this page.  The scholarship application must be submitted online by the same deadline as the one for the online admission's application. Fully Funded Scholarships for Afghan nationals at LUMS, Pakistan

The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Afghanistan Scholarship Programme (ASP), which was announced by H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during his visit to Islamabad in November last year. This is an exclusive scholarship for talented Afghan students to study at LUMS in its undergraduate and graduate programmes. The programme will be implemented by the HRD Division of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad in collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs & LUMS.

Afghan students that are successfully admitted on merit will be funded through full scholarships throughout their study at LUMS.

The ASP is an exciting development that expands upon thousands of years of relationship between the two neighbours. While providing an opportunity to the best and brightest Afghan students to study at LUMS and build excellent leadership skills for future, it will allow LUMS students and faculty to benefit from the fresh and unique perspective that these students will bring and further promote goodwill and people to people contacts among the neighboring countries. Scholarships will be awarded to Business Administration and Science & Engineering degrees under the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) and Syed Babar Ali School of Science & Engineering (SBASSE) respectively; Bachelors and Masters Level.

All prospective students who are citizens of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are urged to prepare for the international tests which are a pre-requisite for admission into LUMS. Undergraduate students are required to take the SAT I examination for the School of Business and both SAT I and SAT II/LUMS SBASSE Subject Test for admission into the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering. At the graduate level, GMAT is required for business students and GRE for science and engineering students.

The scholarship will cover all expenses related to study at LUMS including tuition, boarding and lodging, study material and travel to LUMS. The government of Afghanistan has allocated a fund of USD 1 Million for this programme that will be complemented by an additional USD 2 Million announced by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, so more of the Afghan talent can benefit from this.

The 2016 Garden Scholarship in Surgical Sciences distance learning programme, University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh will offer one Master's scholarship for the MSc in Surgical Sciences distance learning Master's programme offered by the University.

Malmö University offers scholarships that cover between 75 and 100 percent of the tuition fee to highly talented students. 

OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS UNTIL 1 FEBRUARY 2016

The Malmö University Master's Scholarship (MUMS) is for students who:

• are citizens of a country outside the European Economic Area/Switzerland and are obliged to pay tuition fees for studies in Sweden,
• have applied for an English-taught master's programme at Malmö University through www.universityadmissions.se, and
• have ranked a programme at Malmö University as first priority in their application for studies.

We grant around 20 scholarships annualy, each providing a 75 to 100 percent reduction of the programme's tuition fee. Scholarships are awarded on academic merit and motivation. Students admitted to two-year programmes will retain the scholarship for the second year if they successfully complete the first year of study and meet the progression criteria.

The scholarships are funded by the Swedish Government and are administered locally by Malmö University.

Recruitment of Foreign Students Studying in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship-TJU Program

Tianjin University is one of the designated Chinese institutions of higher education, authorized by the China Scholarship Council and the Ministry of Education of China to recruit foreign students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program.

The duration of the scholarship is the same as the duration of studies which is confirmed when the students enter Tianjin University. There is no extension.

Qualification for Applicants

2. Education and age requirements:

For Master’s applicants: have graduated with a Bachelor degree and be under the age of 35 (born after 1981);

For PhD applicants: have graduated with a Master degree, and be under the age of 40 (born after 1976).

Application Materials

The applicants must fill in and submit two copies of each of the following application materials: (in duplicate)

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship Program (filled in by typing in Chinese or English, with the photo. The original and a copy must be submitted);

Applicants shall fill in and print the application form after submitting it online. The CSC Online Application System for Study in China is available at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn/inscholarship/jsp/student/StudentLogin.jsp.

The agency number for Tianjin University is 10056.

2. The notarized certificate of the highest diploma. If the applicant is employed a proof of employment is to be submitted with the application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English, the original and a copy must be submitted.

3. The notarized copy of the Academic Transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

4. A study or research plan not less than 800 words in English or Chinese. All applicants must submit a study or research plan for the study period in China.

5. Two recommendation letters: Applicants who apply for Master Program need to submit two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors（The original and a copy must be submitted). Applicants who apply for PhD program need to submit two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors（The original and a copy must be submitted).

6. Applicants for art studies are requested to submit two sketches of the applicants’ own works.

7. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (The original copy should be kept by the applicant). The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to have the medical examination as the medical results have 6-month validity.

8. Photocopy of passport.

9. Applicants who do not take Chinese language studies have to submit the HSK certificate. A minimum requirement of HSK4 (Score 180 or above) for Engineering/Science or HSK5 (Score 180 or above) for liberal arts is needed.

Applicants who apply the English-taught Programs have to submit the English certificate (TOFEL: no less than 550, New TOFEL: no less than 75 or IELTS: no less than 6.0).

10. Applicants should submit a self-introduction video. The video must be recorded in Chinese or English (depending on the programs chosen) and be less than 5 minutes in duration.



The applicants need to mail all the above application materials to International Admissions Office, School of International Education, Tianjin University. Application materials will not be returned regardless of the outcome of application.

Both the online application and all the application documents should be submitted and delivered before March 11, 2016.

2016 Chinese Government Scholarship, Chinese University Program for Graduate Study at UCAS, China

The Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.


The Chinese University Program is one of the Chinese Government Scholarship programs. It is a full scholarship to support Chinese universities to enroll outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. Eligible applicants may submit their applications for the scholarship via UCAS.


II Scholarship Coverage and Duration


i Scholarship Coverage


1. Exempted from tuition fee and application procession fee


2. Stipend


Chinese Government provides monthly stipend of RMB 3,500 for Doctoral students and RMB 3,000 for Master’s students. In addition, host supervisor and CAS institute/UCAS school/college (hereinafter referred to as institute/school) provide research assistantship for awardees considering their academic performances. The total amounts of monthly stipend will be no less than RMB 5000 for Doctoral students and RMB 3500 for Master’s students.


3. Accommodation


Awardees should be provided with free accommodation (shared room). For those who choose to live outside UCAS campus with UCAS approval in advance, they will be entitled to an accommodation allowance of RMB 1000/month for Doctoral students and RMB 700/month for Master’s students.


4. Medical Insurance


The Insurance would be purchased by the Ministry of Education for awardees. Please refer to the www.lxbx.net for the introduction of insurance coverage.

III Application Guideline

i Qualifications of Applicants


1. Meet the admission criteria for UCAS international students

5. Requirements on education background and age as follows


l Master’s degree candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and be no more than 40 years old.


l Doctoral candidates must hold a Master’s degree or its equivalent and be no more than 45 years old.


The applicant should not currently study at any Chinese university, while there should be over 1 year after his or her graduation from a Chinese university before he/she applies for the scholarship.

Please fill in and submit the online application at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn of the China Scholarship Council. The Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship automatically generated by the system must be printed out, signed by you and pasted with your photo. The agency number of UCAS is 80001. The Annexed Form shall be filled in by your supervisor and host institution.


3. A written statement that you have not been awarded with any other sponsorship


4. A photocopy of your passport’s (with at least 2 years validity) personal information page


5. Original notarized photocopies of degree certificates


Master’s program applicants shall submit the original notarized photocopies of their Bachelor’s degree certificates. Doctoral program applicants shall submit those of both their Master’s and Bachelor’s degree certificates. Those who have not yet graduated must provide evidence of education from their current institutions, with their expected graduation dates being clearly indicated therein, and submit the original notarized photocopies of degree certificates upon their receipts.


6. Original transcripts or original notarized photocopies of transcripts


Master’s program applicants shall submit the academic transcript of their undergraduate study. Doctoral program applicants shall submit academic transcripts of both their graduate and undergraduate studies.


7. Recommendation letters from two professors


The referees need to be experts or scholars in the applicant’s field other than the supervisor applied to. Referees should be familiar with the applicant as well as his/her study and research work. A recommendation letter must be printed on an official headed paper, with the referee’s signature and date, and be sealed.


8. CV and research proposal


9. Photocopies of all the title pages and abstracts of maximum 5 representative published academic papers


Please do not submit any un-published paper.


iii Application Procedure


1. Find an eligible host supervisor affiliated with CAS institute or UCAS school.


Eligible applicants shall prepare application documents as requested above, contact an eligible supervisor and send him/her both hard and soft copies of application documents. Please refer to http://english.ucas.ac.cn/Admissions for information about supervisors.


2. Obtain a host supervisor’s acceptance.


The supervisor scrutinizes and evaluates the applicant’s academic ability according to relevant rules of the institute/school. Several experts might be invited to conduct a video/telephone interview with the applicant or a written examination may be required. The supervisor decides whether or not to accept the applicant by making comments and signing on the supervisor’s comment page of the admission application form as well as on the Annexed Form, and submitting the hard copy of all necessary documents to the institute/school.


3. CAS institute/UCAS school approves.


The application will be reviewed by the institute/school for them to decide whether or not to accept the applicant. If the application is approved, the institute/school will complete and stamp the comment page of the admission application form as well as the Annexed Form and then send the hard copy of all necessary documents to the UCAS International Students Office.


4. UCAS makes the final review and prepares admission documents according to the evaluation result.


UCAS will organize evaluation meetings after its final review of all application documents, with the admission result to be released on its website. The admission and visa application documents for chosen applicants are prepared once the expert panels make the final decision.

iv Application Time

From Dec.1, 2015 to Mar.31, 2016

IV Admission and Registration


Upon the receipt of approval from CSC after its review and verification, awarded applicants will be notified by UCAS around late June or early July, and sent the Admission Notice, Award Letter as well as other admission documents.


The awardee shall bring his/her personal passport as used in his/her application, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW201), and Physical Examination Record for Foreigners as well as all other original reports from the physical examination to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for a student visa (X1/X2 visa). Upon his/her entry into China, the awardee shall register at the place indicated in the Admission Notice within the requested registration period. Please keep safe the original Admission Notice and Visa Application Form (JW202/ JW201) which are needed in the application for the Permanent Residence Permit upon registration. Please do not apply for visa waiver or other types of visa.


V Other


1. Any applicant cannot submit his/her application documents to more than one institute/school and neither could he/she apply via more than one supervisor.


2. Please take a careful consideration of the research field and major to be picked up, and the application should be submitted upon a unanimous discussion with the potential supervisor. After registration, UCAS would not accept any modification application due to the need of major or supervisor change.


3. All the above supporting documentation should be in English or Chinese, otherwise notarial translations in English or Chinese are required.


4. A lack of required application documents or unsatisfactory documents will not be accepted. None of the documents will be returned regardless of the applicant’s admission status.




5. Please DO NOT send any of the supporting documentation directly to the International Students Office of UCAS.


6. The sponsorship duration is subject to the educational period prescribed in the Admission Notice.


7. Once admitted, students must register on the assigned date in the Admission Notice at the place indicated therein. Otherwise, students should apply to UCAS for early or late registration.


8. The Program sponsorship could be retained until Oct.15thof the same year as the application. Any awardee who cannot register before Oct.15th would be regarded as giving up his/her sponsorship.


9. The stipend will be transferred by UCAS on a monthly basis from the date when the awardee registers. A full-month stipend will be transferred to new awardees who register before the 15th of a given month (including15th), while a half-month stipend will be transferred to new awardees who register after the 15th of a given month.


10. After their registration, awardees must abide by relevant regulations for the Chinese Government Scholarship and attend the annual review of their Scholarship status in accordance with the Measures for Annual Review of Chinese Government Scholarship. Awardees who fail the review will be deprived of their Scholarship or their Scholarship will be suspended.


VI Application for Other Programs of the Chinese Government Scholarship


The competition is fierce in the Chinese University Program, which only generates a limited number of awardees. Eligible applicants could opt to apply for the Bilateral Program, EU Program, AUN Program, PIF Program, etc. Please refer to http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua/ as to find out the program details, applicant’s qualifications and application procedures. Applications for those programs are open generally between November and April every year, but please be noted of deadline variations for different countries. The International Students Office of UCAS will offer pre-admission notice if needed.

85 Scholarships offered by the Romanian State to foreign citizens, Romania

Scholarships offered by the Romanian State to foreign citizens through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in keeping with Government Decision No 288/1993 for the 2016- 2017 academic year

1. General conditions:

Number of scholarships: 85 scholarships for under- and post-graduate studies in Romania, by means of selection of application files organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research (MECS in Romanian), in keeping with Romanian current legislation.

Who can qualify: citizens of non EU countries (irrespective of their country of residence). Priority is given to citizens from non EU states with which Romania does not have cultural and education cooperation agreements. Mention should be made that foreign citizens of Romanian origin and those belonging to the neighboring historic Romanian communities benefit from other scholarship program offered by the Romanian state.

The scholarships are granted for three levels of study:

a) for the first cycle (licenta): This scheme is dedicated to graduates of high schools or of equivalent pre-university systems, as well as to candidates who require the equivalent of partial studies and the continuation of their studies in Romania. The complete cycle of university studies lasts for 3 to 6 years, according to the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a final examination (licenta);

b) for the 2nd cycle (master): This scheme is dedicated to graduates of university/post graduate studies; it lasts for 1,5 to 2 years and ends with a dissertation;

c) for the 3rd cycle (doctorate) this scheme is dedicated to the graduates of university/postgraduate studies (i.e. master); it lasts for 3-4 years, in keeping with the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a doctor’s thesis.

Priority fields: priority will be given to the candidates applying for: political and administrative sciences, education studies, Romanian culture and civilization, journalism, technical studies, oil and gas, agricultural studies, veterinary medicine, architecture, music, arts.

Language of Study: In order to promote Romanian language and culture, the Ministry of National Education has decided that the beneficiaries of the scholarships should study only in the Romanian language. The candidates who do not know Romanian are offered one supplementary preparatory year to study the language. The students who declare that they know already Romanian language have to pass a language test organized by the competent higher education institutions.

2. The scholarship consists of:

• Free-of-charge tuition,
• Free-of-charge accommodation (depending on availability, accommodation will be offered free-of-charge in students hostels, in keeping with the higher education regulations and within the limits of the sums available for this purpose),
• Financial support - a monthly amount representing :
  •  the equivalent in Romanian currency of 65 EURO per month, for the under-graduate students (1st cycle),
  • the equivalent in Romanian currency of 75 EURO per month, for post-graduate students (master degrees and specialization) 2nd cycle,
  • RI737126839CN the equivalent in Romanian currency of 85 EURO per month, for post graduate students (doctor’s degree) 3rd cycle.

These scholarships do not cover food, international and local transport. The candidates must be prepared to support personally any other additional expenses.
Calendar of financial support:
The monthly amount mentioned above is granted to the students of the 1st (licenta) and 2nd (master) cycle throughout the whole academic year, the winter and spring vacation included, but not during the summer vacation.
For full-time students of the 3rd cycle (doctorate), the monthly amount is granted throughout the whole calendar year.

Important for all scholarship holders (under and post-graduate): The scholarships will be suspended if the student in any education cycle repeats a year due to poor results. It may be resumed in the following academic year, after the student has successfully graduated the repeated year. The students who repeat an academic year must pay the full study fees and accommodation.

3. Enrolment

To get all the necessary information about the scholarships (conditions, necessary documents, enrolment calendar) and to submit their application files, the candidates should apply directly to:

• the Romanian diplomatic missions accredited to the candidate’s country of origin or of residence or to
• the diplomatic mission of candidate’s state of origin accredited to Bucharest

Application files submitted by post or directly to the MFA or to the MECS, as well as application files received after the announced deadline will not be taken into consideration.
Applications files should contain documents in English or French language.

If the application files contain documents in other foreign languages than English or French, they must be accompanied by authorized translations in one of the following languages: Romanian, English or French. Generally, Romanian universities may require that all enrolment documents should be accompanied by authorized copies and authorized translations in Romanian.

It is of utmost importance to fill in correctly all forms.

4. Enrolment Calendar

The deadline for submitting the application files is established by each diplomatic mission. The candidate should enquire at the diplomatic mission about the enrolment calendar, starting with

2 december 2015

Foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Bucharest must send the application files with a Verbal Note to Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Public, Cultural and Scientific Diplomacy Directorate (MFA – PCSDD) by 15 March 2016, at the latest.
Incomplete files are not taken into consideration. Rejected application files are not returned.

5. List of documents necessary for the application file

5.1. Cover letter issued by the diplomatic mission of the country of origin accredited to Bucharest or of the Romanian Embassy in the respective country.
5.2. A dully filled in MFA application form (Annex 1) for a scholarship to study in Romania.
5.3. MECS application form (Annex 2) for the Letter of Acceptance to study in Romania. In case the applicant’s file is selected by the MFA and the MECS selection boards, MECS issues the Letter of Acceptance to study in the Romanian system of education, based on this application form dully filled in.
The Letter of Acceptance is necessary for the registration at the university and for the application for the long stay visa.
5.4. Authorized copies of the study documents (baccalaureate and university diplomas if necessary) and their authorized translation in Romanian, French and English if necessary.
Note: in case the candidate is still studying in the last year of pre-university study, the file should contain a document (and its authorized translation) confirming the year of study and the fact that the candidate will graduate at the end of the 2015 – 2016 school year, specifying the date when the graduation diploma is issued. In case the candidate’s application file is accepted, the candidate – graduate of high school or equivalent studies – is obliged to send to the diplomatic mission, by 19 August 2016, an authorized copy of the graduation diploma and its authorized translation or, if the case may be, a copy of the document attesting that the candidate has graduated, specifying also the date when the graduation diploma is issued.
The candidates for post-graduates studies must submit all previous diplomas of studies with authorized copies of the diploma and its authorized translation.
5.5. Authorized copies and authorized translation of the diploma supplement transcript for the studies done so far.
Note: The pre-university candidate who enrolls in the Romanian university system will have to submit the authorized copy of the diploma supplement transcript of the last school cycle, i.e. high school or its equivalent. Candidates who are studying in their last year of study will submit the diploma supplement transcripts for the previous years and for the first part of the current school year (until the submission date).
In case the candidate requires the equivalent of partial university studies (intermediary year) and the continuation of studies in Romania, the diploma supplement transcript should be accompanied by the authorized copy and authorized translation of the curriculum for the partial studies done so far.
In case a graduate of higher education studies applies for post graduate studies, he/she has to submit the authorized copies of all documents attesting the graduation of higher education done so far, diploma supplement transcript included.    
5.6. Authorized copy and authorized translation of birth certificate.
5.7. Authorized copy of passport.
5.8. Medical certificate attesting that applicant is not affected by any transmissible disease or by other illnesses incompatible with the future profession.
5.9. The candidate’s CV.
5.10. 4 recent passport-type photos.
The authorization of documents is made by public notaries in the countries of residence or by the sending diplomatic missions, as the case may be. 

6. Applications Evaluation and Selection

MFA – PCSDD checks the application files and submits the valid candidatures to the MFA Selection Board. The files selected by this Board will be sent to the MNE Selection Board. The Boards will approve the list of 85 accepted candidates and a waiting list, in case any selected candidates gives up the scholarship.

7. Announcement of results

The selection results will be announced by 25 June 2016 to each diplomatic mission that submitted application files.

8. Compulsory Steps after Acceptance

MECS will issue a Letter of Acceptance to Study in Romania for the successful candidates. This letter will mention also the supplementary preparatory year compulsory for learning the Romanian language (if applicable) and the academic institution/ institutions where the courses will take place.
In case the candidate does not specify two options in the application form and the chosen university cannot offer a place, MECS may make another offer of university (same faculty), according to the availabilities of the Romanian higher education institutions. If the letter of acceptance to study in Romania contains another equivalent offer, the candidate is free to reject it.
The candidate will receive the original Letter of Acceptance to study in Romania as soon as possible from the diplomatic mission that submitted the file to MFA/PCSSD.
After receiving the Letter of Acceptance, the candidate will contact the Romanian embassy in his/her country of origin or of residence to apply for a long stay student visa (for Romanian diplomatic missions, see http://www.mae.ro/en/romanian-missions; the applications must be submitted until July 11, 2016).
The candidate has to fulfill the dossier with all the necessary documents: the copy of the diploma and the authorized translation of the diploma or of the certificate attesting that the applicant has graduated high school, university or an equivalent institution, issued after the submission of the application file, mentioning the date when the diploma is issued.
The diplomatic missions that received the selection results have to send to MFA/PCSDD (by fax or e-mail):

• by 11 July 2016 the confirmation of each candidate’s decision to use this scholarship;
• by 19 August 2016, where applicable, the copy of the diploma and the authorized translation of the diploma or of the certificate attesting that the applicant has graduated high school, university or an equivalent institution, issued after the submission of the application file, mentioning the date when the diploma is issued.

If the diplomatic mission does not send the candidate’s confirmation or if the candidate’s file is not completed with the above-mentioned documents, the selection Boards consider that the scholarship is refused and it is automatically transferred to a candidate on the waiting list.

• by 1 October 2016, the successful candidates must come personally to register at the Romanian Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Department of International Relations (General Berthelot Street[1] nr. 28 -30, sector 1, Bucharest, tel. 0040 (0)21 405 62 12, fax 0040 (0)21 312 66 14 ).
• They will have to present a file with:

• all original documents contained in the initial application file,
• the Letter of Acceptance to study,
• Passport containing a valid study long stay SD visa.

The scholarship holders will receive a Minister’s Matriculation Order to be presented upon registration at the Secretariat of the university that accepted them, together with the above-mentioned documents.

The joint International Master in Rural Development (IMRD), part of the European Commission's Erasmus Mundus JMD programme, offers the opportunity to become an international expert on rural development in its diversity of approaches and applications, on a scholarship provided by the European Union.

The IMRD master course programme, is a high level academic programme aimed at training top students from all over the world into specialists in integrated rural development, focussed on socio-economic and institutional aspects; not only from the European Union but also from developed, developing and transition countries outside the EU.

The  IMRD master course programme is a 2 year master programme (120 ECTS) jointly organised by 16 worldwide leading universities in rural development and agricultural economics. The methodology consists of a combination of basic and specialised training in technical, economic and social sciences, a case study of one month, an individual master thesis and a high extent of student and scholar mobility.

Through IMRD you can study at least one semester at the folowing universities:
